The workshop which started on May 19th was with the aim of helping the members to get a more insight into gender related issues and how to use the media tools to help communicate such messages in the media.
Participants were basically the members of the aforementioned club whose aim is to become media practitioners and advocates in the near future. The workshop which was inspired by 'PLAN Ghana' was facilitated by some students of the Ghana Institute of Journalism (G.I.J).
During the five days, participants were educated on some basic concept of gender and sex as well as violence against women, radio production, audio editing, photo journalism, on-line reporting and usage of social media.
Okodie David, a form two (2) student of Manya Krobo Senior High School and a member of the club, said he was grateful. He can now edit audio on his own.
Many others also shared their joy with DESKISSUES counting the numerous skills that have been impacted on them over the few days.
Speaking to the facilitators, they believe in giving back to society and that is why they came to impact the knowledge they have acquired from the tertiary institution unto their younger ones.
